• Spacehands: spacehand recruit (no insignia), spacehand apprentice, spacehand

 

• Petty Officers: petty officer 3rd, 2nd and 1st class (I'm still working on the ratings; here, for the sake of example,  Electrician Mate)

• Chief Petty Officers: CPO, senior CPO, master CPO
  

• Command Chief Petty Officers: Command MCPO, Fleet/Force MCPO, MCPO of the Navy

  

• Warrant Officers: WO-1/CWO-2, CWO-3, CWO-4, CWO-5

 

• Midshipmen: 4/C, 3/C, 2/C, 1/C

• Officers: ensign, lieutenant (junior grade), lieutenant, lieutenant-commander, commander, captain

 

• Admirals: rear admiral (lower half), rear admiral (upper half), vice admiral, admiral, fleet admiral, sector admiral, grand admiral

Indeed:

1st year (freshman or plebe): midshipman 4th class
2nd year (sophomore): 3rd class
3rd year (junior): 2nd class
4th year (senior): 1st class

Note that if I reckon correctly, the midshipmen officers ranks are for midshipmen occupying leadership position among other midshipmen (a bit like belgian Royal Military Academy "Caques") rather than for instructors, those using regular navy ranks.

Are the 4 mids ranks linked to their Naval Academy seniority ?
